UNDP Calls for Locally Grounded AI Governance in Africa
In a Sept. 24 analysis, UNDP authors say African AI policy choices should build local capabilities, manage risk, and keep value tied to African priorities. Separately, a Sept. 25 UNDP article on AI workforce development argues that skills need infrastructure and economic pathways.
PARADIGM INSIGHTS:
The test of local AI governance is not whether a country has its own model. It is whether its people can inspect decisions made with one, challenge harm in a reachable forum and retain the skills to change the system. A Digital Innovation Hub should connect local builders to those public institutions, not become a foreign deployment desk.
