Botswana Employment and Labour Relations Act Takes Effect
Botswana's government DailyNews reports the Employment and Labour Relations Act 2025 took effect at the start of September, establishing an independent Mediation and Arbitration Commission for workplace disputes. Labor-specific in scope.

Botswana's new labor commission shows why a dispute forum needs a defined mandate before it needs software. Workplace claims can go to the body the law created; a digital-dispute center for other matters would need its own consent, jurisdiction and relationship to public courts. Borrowing the commission's name or authority would not fill that gap.
