AI Developers Face Antitrust Complaint Over Alleged Coordination

Subscribers filed a proposed antitrust class action against Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceXAI and Google in U.S. court, alleging the competitors coordinated to slow AI product development. This is an allegation in a complaint, not a finding of collusion. The dispute raises a question about how voluntary AI-safety coordination intersects with competition law.

PARADIGM INSIGHTS:

AI safety needs shared tests, but competitors should not become their own closed rulemaking authority. Publish the criteria, permit independent assessment and preserve a route to challenge a decision that shuts a product or user out. The complaint alleges coordination; it does not establish collusion. That distinction is why safety governance needs a record others can examine.
