African Court Outlines Judicial Digitalization Priorities
The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights announced its 2026–2028 strategic plan on September 30, 2026. Priorities include access to justice, modernization through greater digitalization, institutional capacity and service delivery. A separate September 16 notice records a four-day seminar with UNESCO on AI and the rule of law, with more than 50 participants including judges and court staff.
PARADIGM INSIGHTS:
Judicial digitalization and training are distinct from autonomous adjudication. The Court’s plan is useful institutional context for AI governance, but should not be described as adoption of any outside dispute-resolution product.
